Dead Pretty is, in some ways, a response to a shift in fashion's attitude — away from the unrealistic and unsustainable. The notion of buying new outfits for every ‘do has long gone. We're here to create timeless classics that will take you from beach-to-bar, day after day.

Design


Our collection of non-seasonal women’s clothing is made from sustainable Tencel™ lurex jersey. In dreamy hues, with a subtle shimmer, our Studio 54 inspired pieces are designed to fit in with your everyday staples.

All of our unique garments are made to order in limited numbers out of our Sydney studio. Using only sustainably made Tencel™ knit fabric sourced from Japan, each piece is hand-cut by founders Trish and Michelle, then sewn in-house.

By only making to order and in limited runs, we avoid fabric wastage or excess clothing entering landfills. Our Non-Seasonal collection of disco-style mini dresses, hot pants, halter neck, and wrap tops are all timeless classics, made to last.

Tencel™

Sourced from Japan, our luxe lurex jersey is made from Tencel™  — a sustainably manufactured fibre, with a lower environmental impact than cotton and other man-made fibres. 


Believe it or not, Tencel™ is derived from responsibly harvested wood pulp which is then turned into a natural yarn using a loop production process. This makes Tencel™ both biodegradable and compostable, ensuring it can one day fully return back to nature.

Not only is it environmentally sound, but it's luxuriously soft to touch and wear. Tencel™ fabric drapes effortlessly, presents a subtle shimmer, and not to mention is highly absorbent — making it the perfect material for Dead Pretty’s beach-to-bar designs.

Piñatex™

We have said goodbye to leather accessories and welcomed the natural biodegradable vegan leather, Piñatex® by Anas Anam.


Piñatex® is an innovative, natural textile made from waste pineapple leaf fibre. These leaves are a by-product from existing pineapple harvest, so the raw material requires no additional environmental resources to produce. 


Dead Pretty’s debut Piñatex® accessory is the Pina Bag, designed and handmade right here in OZ. We’ll soon be expanding our Pina product line to include belts.

Keeping in local

Dead Pretty’s Non-Seasonal collection is proudly designed and manufactured locally in Sydney, Australia. 

A sense of community is imbued in the Dead Pretty brand. Any fabric scraps are used to make face masks, with proceeds going to local Women's Community Shelters in Redfern, Sydney. 

We encourage and support local Australian creatives, stocking handmade products by artisans such as Degoey Planet, Suryo, Jean Riley and Jon Et Claude.


Delivery

We send both Australian and international orders using Sendle — a carbon-neutral, certified B Corp. Our mail bags are compostable and you won't see a scrap of plastic in our packaging.

The Land


Our HQ is based in Bondi, on Gadigal country, where founders Trish and Michelle have both lived for over 15 years. 

Surrounded by nature, indigenous history, and local rock carvings — the Australian coastal lifestyle is encapsulated in our aesthetic.

Dead Pretty acknowledges and pays respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, past, present and future. We acknowledge their stories, traditions and living cultures, and commit to building a brighter future together.
