First things first, happy birthday! Another year older, have you learned any lessons or things about yourself in the last 12 months?
Thank you!! I’m always learning I guess. I’m feel I’m developing more as an artist and I write a lot more songs than I did 12 months ago.
How would you describe your personal style, and what inspires it most?
At the moment, I love colour and colour blocking! I would say it’s street but sexy and that’s inspiring.
You're about to release your debut album on June 1, Excuse Me. That's kind of a big deal, so congratulations! What's the vibe for it?
Thanks. It’s so exciting. It’s a really fun album and I touch on many different topics in and about my life.
You seem to be overseas on the regular now, what do you love about playing in the US?
I have just played my first ever overseas shows in LA & New York this month. Hopefully these shows become more of a thing for me. I have been basing myself more overseas, and outside of Australia over the past year because it’s very inspiring living in different cities.

It's been just about 5 years since your huge, breakout track "High" by Peking Duk was released. Do you still get nervous before performing? If so, how do you tackle the nerves?
I always get a little nervous before every show, yes. But, once on stage, the nerves all disappear. I like to spend time by myself right before I go on stage and breathe, stretch and get myself hyped.
What's the first song you can recall performing?
It was probably White Flag by Dido when I used to do random gigs at little local events.
You and your partner, Ned, are both successful musicians, does this make things easier or harder on your relationship?
I think it definitely helps as we travel a lot together, but there is always ups and downs in every relationship.
